Howl's Moving Castle (2004)
This film is about Sophie who has an uneventful life at her late father's hat shop, but all that changes when she befriends wizard Howl, who lives in a magical flying castle. However, the evil Witch of Waste takes issue with their budding relationship and casts a spell on young Sophie, which ages her prematurely. Now Howl must use all his magical talents to battle the jealous hag and return Sophie to her former youth and beauty.
Review:
I used to watch this movie as a child but didn't know what it was about until i rewatched it this year and i'm ABSOLUTELY in love with it ><. This movie was the start of my Ghibli-binge-watching session as i started to watch other Ghibli studio movies because of it. This movie is soo good that i believe everyone should watch it for a good family bonding time.
Spirited Away (2001)
This movie is about 10-year-old Chihiro and her parents stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. After her mother and father are turned into giant pigs, Chihiro meets the mysterious Haku who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings who need a break from their time spent in the earthly realm, and that she must work there to free herself and her parents.
Review:
You know when Disney Channel Used to do that movie marathon where everyday you get to see new movies from other studio besides Disney? I used to sit in font of TV and watch that marathon but as a kid i can only understand a little of what's going on. This movie used to be one of it. It confused me a lot as to what was happening on my screen. Now, older, i still don’t understand as to why the faceless ghost keeps following Chihiro or what really was Haku's duty? but it's a good type of mystery, the one that keeps you wanting more. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone who's not an anime lover because it is just worth watching and definitely deserves all the awards it got.
